Short, but sad, update

So it turns out that we were teased in thinking we were going to get our house so soon. The bank wanted 20% down when originally they told us 10%, so we didn't have enough money to put down. So, we lost the house. However, we are thinking positive and trying to find another way to get a house.

We will try in October to qualify again. If we don't, then we need to wait until next year to see if we qualify for anything. We hope in both scenarios that we won't have to put more than 10% down. We don't want to put more down than that! We'll be wiped out! If we don't qualify next year then we'll have to figure out another strategy...ugh. It's a lot more frustrating getting a house than I thought. Oh well. Just gotta keep on truckin!

On a more interesting note...Dave and I are going to be running the Las Vegas Marathon on December 6th! At least, that's the plan. For those of you who don't know how long a marathon is, it's 26.2 miles. That's crazy people! You are supposed to train at least 16 weeks for the marathon cause it's so crazy freakin hard. The first time we ran was last night, so we started a bit late (we have 9 weeks left), so hopefully we won't die come the race. Our goal is to just say we did one. Hopefully we won't have to walk any of it, but who knows! Danielle has been running a bit too, so we are trying to convince her to run with us. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO DANIELLE!!! =)

Sorry still no pictures...I've just been trying to get caught up in school (of course I'm already behind, but only in what I'm supposed to have read by now). Hopefully soon. Until then...

Oh!!! Also, I changed the settings, so anyone can comment!!! I know you all have been wanting to, but didn't realize you couldn't! haha. Just an FYI.

What doesn't kill you will make you stronger... or a similar stupid quote is probably to be appropiate here .I'm sure things will eventually workout...or maybe this is a sign that you should really move to Texas! :) Good luck on the marathon ..Just try to finish ahead of the Mother pushing the baby stroller...Love , Dad

I don't know what calendar you are looking at but if I'm counting right you have more than 9 weeks left to train more like 12. That is awesome! You will need those extra 3 weeks, they will help for sure. Plus you have your hubby running with you he will keep you going for sure. We'll be on the side lines for sure cheering you on. Like your dad said just finish. P.S. don't let the 70 yr. old lady with wrinkly skin & the 80's style headphones pass you up like she did me in the St. George marathon. LOL GOOD LUCK!

Um...yeah, so I realized that it was 12 weeks after I posted this. I was a lot more excited to train after I realized that! I'll try hard to stay ahead of the 70 year olds, but some of them are crazy in shape! We'll have to see what happens! Maybe it can be a good photo-op, me running by an old person...haha

I think that my father-in-law, David, may have been the one that was working with you through a personal investor! :) He recognized the last name "Hardy" and then asked us if that was you guys! It'll all work out in the end. Good luck on that marathon of yours! :)

Bummer about the house. Maybe something even better will come along!

I am excited for you guys running a marathon. I wish I had trained for one before having kids, now it is so hard to go running!

I am sad for you about the house too. That's too bad it didn't work out...stupid bank people.

I am also excited you'll be running a marathon. Very exciting!

Gee, Steph, your cross country coach, Coach Houston would be impressed to see you run a marathon!!! I think it has probably been since Jr. Hi that you have done a lot of running, right? That's so great that you and Dave want to tackle that! But, really, for your first marathon--finishing in any fashion (walking, crawling, whatever) will still be something to "crow" about!

Sorry for your disappointment about the house, honey, but I echo the sentiments that all will work out eventually. Just keep on working your plan! Love, Mom

Sorry about the house sweetie! Keep on truckin'! It will happen soon enough. That is so frustrating though.
